It looks likeAMDis taking a page out of Nvidia’s playbook, as their next-generation of FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution), FSR4, will be exclusive to their newest line of GPUs. That’s not the only catch either. If their slides are any indication, it may be exclusive to the soon-to-be-announced RX 9070 Series.
Team Red fans who previously praised AMD’s decision to make its upscaling technology available not only on new but also generational old GPUs from all brands, including Nvidia and Intel, will be saddened to learn that FSR4 will be exclusive to AMD GPUs and, at the time of writing, the RX 9070.

FSR4 Is Coming, But Only for the RX 9070
AMD confirmed this in official slides (viaVideocardz), which revealed FSR4 ahead of its expected CES announcement.
With FSR4, AMD is moving away from its traditional, more hardware-based technology and opting for the use of AI and machine learning. Considering how lacking FSR has been when compared to Nvidia’s DLSS, which has superior image quality, Ray Trace features, and performance boosts, we can’t say we’re surprised by the news that it will be exclusive to newer AMD GPUs, especially since they’ll be based on RDNA4 and up.

However, that does leave recent GPU buyers in a rather odd spot, knowing that they spent essentially the cost of a DLSS 3-enabled card on an FSR3 card. Though support for those cards will continue, there’s no denying that they’ll miss out on newer features—unless they’re either backported or AMD made a mistake in their slides.
We’ll know soon, as their CES keynote is scheduled for later today. We should also expect official information onthe Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU later today. Thanks toits packaging surfacing earlier than intended, details about it have leaked before the official announcement.

DLSS And FSR Are Great Tech That Could Ruin Gaming
DLSS came with the promise of extending GPU lifespan, but now it’s being used to mask poorly optimised games.

The GAMING OC graphics card uses the WINDFORCE cooling system which features three unique blade fans, alternate spinning, copper plate with direct touch to the GPU, composite copper heat pipes, 3D active fans, and screen cooling to maximize the heat dissipation. Also, the onboard Dual BIOS with OC / silent mode allows users to select the preferred gaming/quieter experience. The GAMING OC graphics card has RGB light, users can change the RGB effects via GIGABYTE CONTROL CENTER software. In terms of the durability, the upgraded metal back plate not only reinforces the overall structure but also protects the PCB from sagging. The excellent power design and ULTRA DURABLE certified high-quality materials such as all-solid capacitors, metal chokes, and low-resistance MOSFETs provide excellent computational performance and a longer lifespan for all gamers.
