Just because the Battlefield 6 beta is over doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything left to play onXbox.
The upcoming list of new Xbox games for the week of August 18th through the 25th has you covered, headlined by one of the bestSoulslikesof 2024.
Despite the anticipated release ofBlack Myth: Wukong, there isn’t much else in terms of big-name releases for the Xbox brand this week. One big reason is the upcoming gamescom event stealing the industry’s thunder. We already know that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be playable at the show, unless Microsoft and Team Cherry are all in one big elaborate prank. We’ll also learn more about the upcomingWorld of Warcraft expansion, Midnight, and get to see Ninja Gaiden 4 in action.
Just verify you keep your expectations in check for Xbox’s 2025 gamescom showing. That’s not to say they don’t have some surprises up their sleeves, but make sure you don’t set yourself up for disappointment.
Xbox Releases for August 18th to 24th
There are quite a lot of games on the docket this week, despite the gamescom event taking place from August 20th through the 24th.
The big headliners for this week’s new Xbox games are Black Myth: Wukong and Discounty. We became well acquainted with Black Myth: Wukong last year, and I’m excited for Xbox owners to finally get a chance to experience what everyone’s been talking about.
As for Discounty, ourreviewsaid that it’s “the right type of cozy game that you can get completely lost inside for a few days. It thrives in the “Just one more day” zone and has an addictive loop that feels good as a distraction from the real world.”
