Apparently, the role she could be playing in the film is that of an Irish pirate, Anne Bonny. If the rumors are true, it looks like the film could be heading towards a race-swap controversy.

Pirates of the Caribbeanis one of many franchises that have made a place for itself in the audience’s heart. This is one reason why fans do not want to risk the nostalgia attached to it with a new film, that too, one without Depp. Needless to say, if the film comes to fruition, the actor taking Depp’s place will have some big shoes to fill and it’s not going to be easy.
